Increasing screen time, junk food, changing lifestyle has reduced the age of menarche –

Through 118 workshop teenager guided

At present, increasing screen time on mobile phones and TV, excessive use of fast food, junk food and lack of exercise in the diet is decreasing the age of menarche. Therefore, girls are advised to learn as much as possible about the changes that occur during puberty was done.
200 adolescent girls from 6th to 10th standard, women teachers were present in this workshop.
The chief guests on this occasion were HARC President Dr. Pawan Chandak, Dr. Asha Chandak, Padma Bhalerao,
Dr. Asha Chandak while addressing the workshop discussed physical and mental changes in adolescent girls after puberty, menstrual cycle management, understanding of periods, misunderstandings, hygiene of genitals during periods, use of sanitary pads-cotton pads, proper disposal, proper nutrition to be taken. Along with diet, various health issues related to menstruation, PCOD, excess discharge and sustainable alternatives for use during menstruation, i.e. menstrual cups as absorbents, etc. were guided.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pawan Chandak, President of HARC said, “Since 2019, HARC has trained more than 30,000 teenage girls in 118 workshops in Parbhani, Hingoli, Washim and Beed districts in 250 Zilla Parishads and private aided schools without any government help or subsidy. Counseling is done.” HARC President Dr. Pawan Chandak, Padma Bhalerao, school teacher Tahera Fatema Madam, Arshiya Qureshi, Pooja Shivaji Kumhar, Yogita Deshmukh, S. Mindhu Madam made efforts for the success of the workshop.
