“Even great scholars and yogis fail to attain the nectar of immortality through knowledge or yoga. Yet, that supreme bliss is easily attained through pure and selfless devotion,” expressed young kirtankar Ku. Radha Shankar Ajegaonkar, while delivering her inspiring discourse on “The Ideal of Krishna Devotion – Saint Meerabai”.
The discourse took place during the Kirtan Week organized from 11th to 17th November at Sant Dnyaneshwar Mauli Temple, Vidyanagar, Parbhani.
Speaking further, Ku. Radha said, “The seeds of Krishna devotion were sown in Meerabai’s heart during her childhood through her parents’ deep spiritual values. These early impressions shaped her destiny and transformed her into a saint-poet in 14th-century India. Her soulful compositions, filled with divine love, are still sung with reverence and joy across the nation.”
She added, “Born in the small village of Kudki in Rajasthan, a young girl became immortal in people’s hearts through her unwavering devotion to Lord Krishna. This shows how deeply childhood values influence one’s spiritual journey.”
Miss. Radha’s kirtan captivated the audience with melodious verses, soulful bhajans, and devotional fervor. She was accompanied by Mangesh Jawalekar on harmonium, Vishal Dhanorkar on tabla, Shankar Ajegaonkar on manjira, and Rishikesh Aundhekar on supporting vocals.
The event was graced by H.B.P. Madhavrao Ajegaonkar, Vim Aundhekar, Ramdas Chavan, Suhas Bidkar, Sudhakar Langar, and Shrikant Kulkarni. The Kashikar family, the hosts of the event, felicitated Ku. Radha for her heartfelt devotional presentation.
Throughout the Kirtan Week, discourses by various spiritual speakers have drawn large gatherings of devotees, filling the temple premises with divine devotion and blissful energy.
