3,202 Rohingyas Issued Birth Certificates from Parbhani!

Kirit Somaiya Criticizes Revenue Administration

Parbhani, Jan 28 (Correspondent):
A total of 3,202 Bangladeshi Rohingyas were issued birth certificates by the administration in a taluka like Parbhani, which is an extremely serious issue, said BJP leader and former MP Kirit Somaiya during a meeting in Parbhani. He stated that strict action will be taken against those involved in this birth certificate scam. Additionally, officials must take serious note of this anti-national conspiracy and ensure that fake certificates of this kind are not issued in the future, he warned.

BJP leader Somaiya arrived in Parbhani on Tuesday, January 28, in the afternoon, traveling in a convoy of security personnel from Jalna. Upon arrival, he immediately visited the District Collector’s office and held discussions with District Collector Raghunath Gawde, Sub-Divisional Officer Dattu Shewale, Tehsildar Dr. Rajapure, and other officials. Somaiya expressed astonishment over the administration issuing thousands of birth certificates in just six months to individuals claiming to have been born 70 years ago in a small region like Parbhani. He pointed out that most of the beneficiaries were Rohingyas and Bangladeshis.

He further stated that some individuals had obtained birth certificates merely based on Aadhaar cards, while others used unclear ration card copies from fair-price shops. Such acts, based on vague evidence, are highly serious and tantamount to treason, he declared.

Somaiya assured that strict action will be taken against those involved. He revealed instances where fake birth certificates were created using fraudulent documents. Mistakes have undoubtedly been made by the revenue administration, he said, adding that while some errors might have been committed out of greed, it is crucial to ensure that such mistakes are not repeated in the future.

According to Somaiya, a well-organized gang is actively operating across the state. This gang avoids metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Pune, and Nashik and instead targets districts in Marathwada and Vidarbha. They lure officials with money and submit fraudulent documents to obtain birth certificates. He urged the administration to recognize this conspiracy, equating it to a form of terrorism.

Somaiya called for the immediate filing of cases against Rohingyas who obtained birth certificates using fraudulent affidavits. He also recommended that the police administration file criminal cases against them.

Meanwhile, Somaiya was accompanied by BJP’s Industries Cell State President Pramod Wakodkar, Metropolitan District President Rajesh Deshmukh, former Corporator Mangal Mudgalkar, BJP leaders Balasaheb Jadhav and Sanjay Rizwani, among other leaders and officials.
