District Correspondent Parbhani: “The Lions Club is the main thread of social service,” said Police Superintendent Paradeshi. He was speaking at the inauguration of a program distributing artificial limbs to differently-abled individuals on February 5.
To provide renewed hope and facilitate easier integration into society for individuals permanently disabled due to accidents or serious illnesses, Lions Club Pune Supreme and Lions Club Parbhani Main jointly organized a three-day artificial limb (Jaipur Foot) camp. A total of 101 differently-abled individuals received Jaipur Foot and polio calipers.
This camp was conducted using the fastest and most advanced technology compared to previous camps. On the first day, measurements were taken for 164 registered individuals; 101 were found eligible after examination and were provided with Jaipur Foot the next day.
On February 5, a distribution ceremony was held, inaugurated by Police Superintendent Ravindra Singh Paradeshi. Chief guests included Lions Club Regional Chairperson Mrs. Priya Thakur, Principal of Shri Shivaji College Balasaheb Jadhav, and Suhas Bidkar.
The Police Superintendent praised the Lions Club’s initiative and extended best wishes for such socially beneficial programs.
The event was attended by former Regional Chairperson Dr. Pravin Dhadve, President of Lions Club Pune Supreme Ramshwar Maniyar, Secretary Sanjana Jhamwar, Vice Presidents Nitin Dhotre, Sushil Mundada, Shriram Bhalerao, Akash Ambade, and Rajani Ambade.
The camp was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Asmita Surana and Dr. Rahul Surana.
The successful organization of the camp was made possible by the efforts of Lions Club Parbhani Main President Arun Tak, Vijay Shrimali, Anil Kansurkar, Haider Ali Jivani, Shailesh Malhotra, Rahul Jaiswal, Vijay Dawre, and Mayur Bhale.
