Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–run Shri Shivaji Law College, Parbhani, organized a book exhibition on Saturday, 09 August, to mark the 133rd birth anniversary of Padma Shri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan. The program was presided over by the college principal, Dr. Mahesh L. Dharmapurikar. He offered floral tributes to the portrait of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, along with other dignitaries present.
Afterwards, Principal M. L. Dharmapurikar inaugurated the exhibition by cutting the ribbon. The exhibition included books beyond the regular curriculum—featuring literature in Marathi and English, as well as other law-related books in Marathi.
In his presidential address, Principal M. L. Dharmapurikar highlighted Dr. S. R. Ranganathan’s significant contribution to library science, the relevance of libraries in the age of the internet and AI, and emphasized that the knowledge gained from college libraries and classrooms can make students truly successful in their academic life.
In his introductory speech, Librarian Dr. Sachin V. Kadam discussed the five laws of library science given by Dr. S. R. Ranganathan and the noble purpose behind organizing the exhibition.For the successful organization of the event, best wishes were extended by the President of Marathwada Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, Hon. MLA Shri Prakashdada Solanke, Secretary Hon. Shri Satishbhau Chavan, and esteemed members of the College Development Committee—Hon. Shri Chandrashekhar Nakhate, Hon. Shri Govind Kadam, Hon. Shri Makdoom Mohiuddin, Hon. Shri Santosh Bobade, Hon. Adv. Deepak Deshmukh, Hon. Adv. Ashok Shinde, and Hon. Shri Santosh Ingle.
The exhibition saw a large attendance of college professors, office staff, and students. The library staff worked hard to ensure the success of the program.
