Parbhani: Preventive measures have been taken for the safety of 8 to 10 thousand citizens who come for morning and evening walks in the area of ​​Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University. As a part of it, citizens coming for a walk will be charged an annual fee of Rs.100/

This university has received the International Green University Award. Due to the green environment of the university, around 8 to 10 thousand citizens come to the university every day for morning and evening walks. The purpose of the university is to help provide health to the citizens of Parbhani. However, the Nawa Mondha Police Station informed the Registrar’s office of the university that an incident of  snatching a  golden chain  of woman who had come for a walk in the morning took place on 20th August near Ashwamedh Maidan in the university premises. Such incidence happen frequently. WeAccordingly, in order to take preventive measures to prevent such incidents, Vice-Chancellor joint meeting of the district police administration and the university security system was held under the chairmanship of vice chancellor Dr Indra Mani. In the meeting, everyone agreed that if the university gives identity cards to the pedestrians, it will help to prevent such incidents. Accordingly, all the officers, employees and students of all the offices of Parbhani headquarters under Vasantrao Naik Marathwada Agricultural University have been made mandatory to carry their identity card while walking around the university premises. Also, the citizens visiting the university should pay Rs. 100 per year and renew the identity card every year by preparing an identity card from the office of the Security Officer (Mobile No. 7507351937). Also, two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles are prohibited in the university premises from 11 pm to 8 am every day. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Indra Mani appealed that people should not go for a walk in the restricted area. Also Additional Superintendent of Police Shri. Yashwant Kale said that a police station will be provided at the university gate (black arch) and the police will patrol the university premises. In the meeting, Registrar Dr. Santosh Venikar, Additional Superintendent of Police Shri. Yashwant Kale, Police Inspector of Nava Mondha Police Station Shri Sharad Murray, Director of Extension Education Dr. Bhagwan Asewar, Research Director Dr. Khizr Baig, Principal Dr. Syed Ismail, Chairman of University Security Committee and Head of Extension Education Department. Dr. Rajesh Kadam, Student Welfare Officer. Purushottam Zhanwar, Security Officer Shri P. V. Sudke, Assistant Professor Dr. S. D. Payaal and Assistant Registrar Shri. P. M.Patil and others were present.
